A lawyer focused on information and communications technology policy, fraud prevention, administrative compliance, and environmental issues, Complaints and Investigations Chief Francis Euston R. Acero has been with the National Privacy Commission since 2016.
Aside from his work with the NPC, he continues to serve as a Lecturer at the Institute of Law of Far Eastern University, where he teaches Introduction to Law, Legal Profession, and Legal Technique and Reasoning. He is also Founding Board Member of Democracy.Net.PH, an organization engaged in Internet and Information and Communications Technology rights advocacy.
Atty. Acero is also certified on malware defense by Trendlabs, and is also a legal consultant for issues related to the intersection between cyberspace and civil rights. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, and an active member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Philippine chapter.
Atty. Acero is an alumnus of the University of the Philippines – College of Mass
Communication, as well as of the Ateneo Law School.
